February 2025 – February 2026: the new wooden residential complex completed in one year – Gualdo (MC)

In 12 months, we completed the construction of the new wooden residential complex in Gualdo (MC), developed through the demolition and reconstruction of buildings damaged by the 2016 earthquake.

The project involved the construction of five terraced housing units, arranged over two above-ground floors, with a basement level designated for service rooms.

 
Construction speed and structural quality
Meeting such a tight schedule—from the start of the construction site to completion in just 12 months—was made possible through the use of prefabricated glued laminated timber (glulam) structures and the adoption of the Platform Frame Subissati building system, one of the most advanced technologies in the timber construction sector.

The system ensures:

- excellent thermal and acoustic insulation

- high energy efficiency
The reinforced concrete foundations and basement level were completed during the initial phase of the project, followed by the installation of the prefabricated timber structures, which enabled significant optimization of the overall construction timeline.

Each housing unit is equipped with a photovoltaic system integrated into the roof, with the aim of reducing energy demand and increasing the complex’s energy self-sufficiency.
